George H.W. Bush has died, which means some work I contributed to THE once mighty Time Inc empire has finally seen the light of day. Five or six years ago. when Steve Koepp was running Time books, he recruited me to contribute to a few of the books they were producing. President Bush was feeling poorly, so they commissioned a commemorative book to have ready to go onto newsstands before the body got cold. I got to write the first chapter, about George’s youth and upbringing and war service. Good stuff! As it happened, the old bird hung in there. Now, finally, everyone can read it.
