PARIS TO NORMANDY TO PARIS, SEPTEMBER 23

Unwilling to pay the premium prices charged by Moulin Rouge and Crazy Horse, we did the nightclub thing at a place in Montemarte called Eve, where we drank champagne and saw a rousing Can Can. Other sites we crammed into our waning hours included Les Drapeaux de France, a premier toy solder shop near the Louvre; the Conciergerie,  a former courthouse and prison near the Palais de Justice where 2,781 prisoners, most notably Marie Antoinette, were imprisoned during the French Revolution; and the Arc de Triomphe.
