It was fun to have lunch today at McCormick & Schmick’s with Steven Schragis, my friend from Spy days and the publisher of my first novel. We had a good time talking about politics and publishing–he thinks Sarah Palin may be a game changer, but I’m not so convinced. By the way, he is now more certain than ever–and apparently he’s been pretty darn certain for quite a while–that Obama ought to have chosen Hillary as his running mate. Steve is the Founder and Managing Director of One Day University, that innovative and exciting program that brings college to people old enough to appreciate it (and without requiring them to take tests or write papers.) That makes him a dean of some sort, doesn’t it? It should. Steve’s got some other innovative ideas in the works–if you’re a book lover or a film lover, keep your eyes peeled.
