On a day when Donald Trump‘s self-glorifying birthday/ US Army’s birthday
proved to be an anti-climatic dud, on a day when two Minnesota legislators and their spouses were gunned down in their homes, on a day when US Marines were still deployed to Los Angeles, millions of people in thousands of locations across the country marched, rallied and demonstrated to show that ![]()
despite Trump’s zealous efforts, democracy was still alive in the USA. We began with a
noon parade in Saratoga Springs, where thousands of people under the Indivisible ADK/Saratoga banner, along with a coalition of pro-democracy allies, marched down Broadway in Saratoga Springs as part of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge Annual Flag Day Parade. We were by far the largest group. It was exhilarating–marching, chanting, receiving the encouragement of the spectators standing outside the shops and restaurants. Afterwards, we headed north to Warrensburg, where Ginny ran the medical tent at a second rally, where another 800 attended.
