I had the pleasure Thursday of meeting Gary Lippman, a talented writer who has written an interesting novel called Freak Hots for Sharon. We talked about his family, his home in Paris, his visits to Burning Man, the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City, our mutual friend Melik Kaylin, and of course, writing. Fiction isn’t Gary’s only creative outlet; he is also a photographer and photo collagist whose work I like very much; it can be seen on his website, apocalippy.com. We met in what surely must be one of the most pulchritudiously-endowed Starbucks in America, at Crosby and Spring in Soho, which only added to the pleasure of talking with him. I’m looking forward to seeing him again.
