I am sad to say that my sister Rose Marie died unexpectedly on April 20th. Teacher, actress, photographer, chef, cat lover, dog whisperer, loving daughter, devoted sister, enthusiastic aunt, she was above everything the most giving person I have ever known, and was always thus. From young womanhood until her last days, most of my memories of Rose involve her doing something for her family, for friends, and for her church, and never asking much in return. Seldom given to preachiness or judgmentalism, she was a person who lived her Christian faith; in his eulogy, her pastor called her “a formidable woman,” and he was right. Her confidence in me, and the guidance and encouragement she gave me at various turning points, helped me become the person I am. I will miss her always.
Jamie, I doubt that you will remember me but I remember you and your brothers. I was a close friend of Rose Marie all during my time at St. Anthony School (1953-58) and all through Seton High as well. We were somewhat rebels in 8th grade, since most went to Catholic High and we both chose Seton. Saw her at most of the 5 year reunions since then and was extremely sad upon learning late on the day of her funeral that she had passed away or I would have attended. She was a great lady, intelligent as could be and a stellar athlete as well. We will all miss her and we send our wishes and prayers to her family. I found your page looking up the date of her death for another Setonite, Ms. Linardi Beltram, who was also her basketball coach at Seton.
