Sure, some people are going to buy the September issue of Details because Zac Efron‘s picture is on the cover, but some are going to be drawn to the cover line that says “Why You Should Lie to Your Boss.” I hope so, anyway, because I wrote it–a nice little tongue-in-cheek service piece about how a bit of strategic dishonesty might be what you need to get started on the career of your dreams. All thanks to Details Deputy Editor Chris Raymond, my friend and former Esquire colleague, for inviting me back under the Details umbrella, where I last appeared in 1992 with the cartoon “Your Own Private Peggy Noonan.” Thanks, Chris. (You could read the piece online, or you could buy a copy, and write letters to the editor and publisher calling for more pieces by me. But I suppose most of you will probably just click here.)
